Autologous Rhinoplasty

Autologous Rhinoplasty

A beautiful and sophisticated nose completed with your own body tissue.

Autologous Rhinoplasty

Made from the tissues of my own body
Natural nose

This is a method of using autologous tissue from one's own body as an implant instead of an artificial implant during rhinoplasty. While artificial implants can cause side effects and lead to revision surgery, proceeding with autologous tissue from the start can reduce implant-related side effects.

It is suitable for those who are reluctant to insert artificial implants or who want more natural results.

  • Permanent effect
  • Soft nose feel and minimal foreign body sensation
  • Minimal shape deformation even under external impact

Materials

Which Autologous tissueDo you use?

Since autologous tissue is one's own human tissue, it has excellent biocompatibility and settles stably.

Temporal fascia

Temporal fascia

It is used to improve the appearance of the implant looking angular or visible through the skin. Wrapping the implant with fascia gives it a softer and fuller feel.

Autologous dermis

Autologous dermis

Thick dermal-fat tissue is harvested from the buttocks. Due to its high elasticity, it does not spread sideways, and there is little concern about deformation of the nose once it takes.

Septal cartilage

Septal cartilage

This is the most suitable cartilage for rhinoplasty, leaving no harvesting scars. It is mainly used to support the columella of the nasal tip and can also correct a deviated septum at the same time.

Ear cartilage

Ear cartilage

It is softer than the nasal septum and has a curved shape, making the tip of the nose soft and natural. Because of its good elasticity, it is often used for the tip of the nose.

Rib cartilage

Rib cartilage

It is a firm cartilage that can be harvested in large amounts. It is used when strong support is needed, such as for a sharp nose tip, a low nasal bridge, or contracture correction.

Autologous fat

Autologous fat

Fat is harvested from the abdomen or thighs to raise a low nasal bridge or to fill in sunken areas of a previously operated nose without removing the implant.

Compare

Rhinoplasty methods Comparison

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

  • The duration of the effect is rather short.
  • There may be sagging or softness.
  • It is expensive compared to its effectiveness.
  • Inflammation may occur.

Rhinoplasty with an artificial implant

  • If a capsule forms and the skin is thin, it may become visible through the skin.
  • It might look too sharp and obvious that you had surgery.
  • There is a possibility of inflammation
  • There is a possibility of bending.

Autologous tissue rhinoplasty

  • It uses body tissue, so it has an excellent engraftment rate and is permanent.
  • Even after the surgery, the shape of the nose remains natural.
  • It is also possible to achieve a sleek nose shape, just like with an artificial implant.
  • The risk of foreign body reaction and inflammation is low.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

QWill there be a scar left in the harvested area?

Ear cartilage is harvested from behind the ear, septal cartilage from inside the nose, and autologous dermis from less visible areas such as the intergluteal cleft. Costal cartilage leaves a small incision scar under the breast, but it fades over time.

QDoesn't autologous tissue get absorbed?

Cartilage is rarely absorbed, while the dermis and fat may be partially absorbed, so the amount is adjusted taking this into account. Once engraftment is complete, the shape remains stable.

QWhat is the reason for the long surgery time?

This is because the process of harvesting and refining tissue is added. It takes 2 to 5 hours depending on the type and amount of tissue used, and you can go home on the same day without hospitalization.
