Lower Blepharoplasty

Lower Blepharoplasty

From under-eye fat to sagging skin, return to the eyes of your prime.

Lower Blepharoplasty

The lower eyelid is
than the upper eyelid First Grows old

As you age, sagging of the skin and muscles under the eyes begins to become noticeable. When the skin thins and loses elasticity, the lower eyelids sag and appear hollow, and an excessive accumulation of fat under the eyes makes you look older.

Under-eye aging requires a diagnosis by a specialist, as the approach varies depending on individual symptoms, such as under-eye wrinkle correction, sagging correction, or fat removal and repositioning.

Who is it for

Cases where lower blepharoplasty is needed

  1. 01When severe under-eye wrinkles cause the area to look shadowed
  2. 02When bulging under-eye fat makes you look fierce
  3. 03When severe skin sagging makes you look older
  4. 04If you have severe dark circles that make you look tired
  5. 05If you want to remove sagging skin
Method

Lower blepharoplasty surgical procedure

It removes and repositions protruding fat and excises an appropriate amount of sagging skin to improve wrinkles.

  1. STEP 01Design

The amount of skin to be removed is determined by considering the condition of the sagging skin and the shape of the fat.

  2. STEP 02Incision and removal

An incision is made along the lower lash line extending to the outer corner of the eye, after which sagging skin and protruding fat are removed or repositioned.

  3. STEP 03Muscle fixation

Tighten the sagging muscles and secure them to the fascia.

  4. STEP 04Suturing

It is sutured inside the eye so that scars are not visible.

  5. STEP 05Complete

    Creates bright and youthful-looking eyes.

Why DIVA

Diva Lower Blepharoplasty Features

  • 01Both wrinkles and muscle sagging at the same time

It improves both under-eye wrinkles and sagging muscles, resolving an aged appearance.

  • 02Moderate volume

By repositioning the under-eye fat, hollow areas are filled and protruding areas are smoothed out.

  • 03Invisible scar

The procedure is performed with a minimal incision through the inner fascia under the eyes, leaving virtually no visible scars.

  • 04A lifting effect

It pulls not only the skin but also the muscles upward, providing a lifting effect around the eyes.

Canthopexy

If you have severe under-eye sagging
Lateral canthopexytogether with

Canthopexy is a surgery that fixes sagging skin tissue and muscle around the eyes to the periosteum of the outer eye.

In lower blepharoplasty, excessive muscle resection or extending the incision line increases the possibility of nerve damage, leading to the risk of ectropion (a condition where the eyelid turns outward). Lateral canthopexy reduces these risks and even improves under-eye sagging, which is difficult to resolve with lower blepharoplasty alone.

Who is it for

Cases where lateral canthopexy is needed

  1. 01Cases where under-eye sagging is severe and difficult to improve with lower blepharoplasty alone
  2. 02If you want to prevent side effects such as ectropion after surgery
  3. 03Recurrence of under-eye sagging after lower blepharoplasty
  4. 04Cases where ectropion occurs after lower blepharoplasty
Method

Lateral canthopexy surgical procedure

  1. STEP 01Design and incision

Make a horizontal incision along the root of the lower eyelashes according to the pre-operative design.

  2. STEP 02Muscle fixation

Pull the loosened muscle and firmly fix it to the outer periosteum of the eye.

  3. STEP 03Suturing

Since it is sutured inside the eyelashes, the scar is not visible after the surgery.

  4. STEP 04Complete

    Creates bright and youthful-looking eyes.

Combination

Eye surgery that goes well with it

  1. 01Lower blepharoplasty + under-eye fat removal

It removes under-eye fat and neatly resolves sagging skin under the eyes.

  2. 02Lower blepharoplasty + lateral canthopexy

In cases of severe sagging of the skin and muscle, lifting is performed by fixing the muscle or lateral canthal tendon to the periosteum, along with fat removal and skin excision.

  3. 03Lower blepharoplasty + under-eye fat repositioning

It resolves sagging under-eye skin by repositioning the under-eye fat into the hollow areas.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

QCan you not see the scar?

Because the incision is located just below the eyelashes and the sutures are placed inside the eye, it is barely noticeable after recovery.

QI am worried about ectropion.

Excessive muscle resection is avoided, and lateral canthopexy is performed if necessary to reduce the risk of ectropion, where the eyelid turns outward. The elasticity of the eyelid is evaluated before surgery to plan accordingly.

QHow is it different from under-eye fat repositioning?

If there is minimal skin sagging and only bulging fat, fat repositioning accessed through the inside of the conjunctiva is suitable; however, if both the skin and muscle have sagged, lower blepharoplasty involving skin excision is necessary. The appropriate method is determined during the consultation after assessing the degree of sagging.
